RAWALPINDI: A fumigation drive is under way in various areas of the Cantonment to avert the spread of the dengue virus. According to the Rawalpindi Cantonment Board spokesman, this year, an aggressive approach was being adopted to cope with the situation and fight against the dengue virus in an effective manner. Special steps were being taken to control dengue in the cantonment area. She said that all possible precautionary measures to control the Dengue virus would be taken. A campaign to fumigate all the cantonment areas with the Anti-Dengue spray had been started, which would continue till the threat of the disease was over. She said a large number of tyres had also been confiscated and tyre shops had been fined with warnings, that uncovered tyres should not be displayed.
