ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court (IHC) has issued notices to all parties including Ministries of Interior, Law and Justice and Secretary cabinet division in the petition filed against the provision of bullet proof vehicle to former Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry. Justice Shaukat Aziz Siddiqi conducted the hearing and sought reply from all parties while issuing them notices. Senior Advocate and counsel of petitioners (former Presidents of High Court Bar Association) Sheikh Ahsan-ud-Din appeared before the court and informed that there is dire need to provide fool-proof security to former chief justice of Pakistan owning to security concerns and terror incidents in Quetta and Mardan Kitchery blast. “The former CJP had already security concerns which have now enhanced”, he added and maintained that in January 2014, the IHC had ordered to provide bullet-proof vehicle to former CJP. Later, division bench of IHC had declared this ordered null and void in May, 2016 and send back to this case to single bench with the direction that petition should be decided after hearing all parties.
