ISLAMABAD: The CDA Deputy Director (DD), who was caught red handed while taking a bribe of five million rupees over a matter of illegal construction of illegal storeys of Safa Gold Mall, has got himself a private room at the PIMS and has managed to find a way out of Adiala jail. DD Estate, Iftikhar Haidri, got a private room at the PIMS on August 19, 2016, on the pretext of being a patient of sugar and blood pressure by greasing the palms of the concerned officials at the PIMS. The patient was under the treatment of Dr. Malik Rauf Niazi. Then Iftikhar Haidri started arranging frank and free friendly meetings of his associates and relatives in the room. The room which was allotted to Hakim Ali Zardari, father of Asif Ali Zardari, has been allotted to Iftikhar Haidri at the PIMS. He was caught red handed by the NAB intelligence wing in December 2015 while takinga bribe amounting to Rs 5 million. His case is pending hearing at the Accountability Court (AC). He bade good bye to Adiala jail by dint of his wealth and hired a room in a private ward at the PIMS. The NAB investigation officers and federal police officers are said to have played a key role in his shifting from Adiala jail to a room in a private ward at the PIMS. It is said that the accused is taking refuge at the PIMS on the pretext of having blood pressure problems. It was tried again and again to seek his stance but the police personnel deployed on his supervision ignored our request deliberately by saying that the “Sahib is taking rest”. PIMS VC Javid Akram told Daily Times that it was not in his knowledge that Iftikhar Haidri was being kept at PIMS private ward. He said: “I will check and send him back to Adiala jail”.
