RAWALPINDI: The Punjab Health secretary on Saturday sought a detailed report over reports of theft of medicines from the pharmacy of the Benazir Bhutto Hospital. The secretary took notice of media reports that insulin and medicines worth millions rupees had been stolen from the out-patient department (OPD) of Benazir Bhutto Hospital. He ordered the authorities to investigate the reports. He has asked the officials to present a report within three days. He directed the authorities to identify the culprits and recover medicines from them. Additional Medical Superintendent (MS) Dr Khalidur Islam has been appointed head of the inquiry team. The authorities have been directed to check the record of medicine supplied to the hospital by the government and point out any discrepancies. Published in Daily Times, June 26th, 2017.
