Sir: Education is the basic right of every child and a very important aspect for progress of any nation. In Pakistan the illiteracy rate is increasing day by day and the total figures have reached millions. Poverty is the main cause of lack of education and rising child labour. Child labour contributes much to rising illiteracy. Government schools are there in every area of Pakistan but without children and basic facilities these schools are ghost schools. Education is the right of every child whether rich or poor and if the right of education is taken away from children, how will Pakistan make progress? The government and NGOs should make concrete efforts to spread education in underdeveloped areas of Pakistan. WAFA AFTAB Karachi
