ISLAMABAD: Defence Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif, on Saturday, said that the newly appointed army leadership would continue the rich tradition established by the outgoing Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Raheel Sharif. Referring to the appointment of new Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and COAS, he said that the war against terrorism would continue. The armed forces were fighting bravely against terrorists and the situation today was much better than three years ago. Talking to a private news channel he said that the operation Zarb-e-Azb would continue till terrorism is completely eliminated from the country. He said that the civil and armed forces gave unforgettable sacrifices in war against terrorism. Replying to a question, he said that Pakistan had been facing number of challenges, including confrontation on eastern border, war against terror, restoration of peace in big cities, but the government would try to overcome every situation that arises.
