Rabab’s drama serial ‘Kam Zarf’ shows the actress at her professional best

Published on: May 21, 2019 11:44 PM

Actress Rabab Hashim has added yet another feather to her cap with a lead role in ‘Kam Zarf’.

This 21-week-old drama is currently on air and has been running successfully, adding admiration to Rabab Hashim’s acting prowess. She has been polishing her talent at the National Academy of Performing Arts (NAPA) and thanks to that training, she’s got the aptitude to choose and play the right roles. Starting her career as a hostess, she never knew she would end up falling in love with acting. Though she faced some serious opposition, she persistently persuaded her fate to become an icon for her fans.

Hashim has been treading progressively on the ladder of fame in the Pakistani drama industry. Beginning her career at the age of 12, to becoming a lead role actress is a noticeable achievement, for this 26 year old young actress. Her professional approach made her earn a firm place in the drama industry, as well as other platforms where she exposed her talents. Despite being a BBA (Hons) with a major in Marketing from the Institute of Business Management, she preferred to follow and excel in the field of performing arts and graduated from NAPA with a full honours degree.

A vast list of drama serials and short films are pretty sufficient to notch her acting career. Initiating with a negative role of Maya in her first drama serial in 2012, ‘Na Kaho Tum Mere Nahi’, she faced a lot of negative vibes from the viewers. However she must have feel contented for making her negative performance so realistic for the people to start disliking her. Moving on to the next era of fame, she was trolled over some real blockbusters like ‘Zid’, ‘Piya Man Bhaye’, ‘Anaya Tumhari Hui’, ‘Mohabbat Khawab Safar’ and ‘Ishq Na Kariyo Koi’. As for her currently playing drama ‘Kam Zarf’, she can be witnessed in a very challenging role which is being executed quite effectively by her.

Hashim as Fouzia in ‘Kam Zarf’ is a girl who belongs to an underprivileged family where she was raised with limited resources. The story of ‘Kam Zarf’ demands Fouzia to be a simple and patient wife of a stone-hearted husband Azer, who never accepted her as his rightful wife. However, things turn out to be in her favour like a miracle when Azer realises his mistake of taking Fouzia for granted and not giving her what she deserved. She finally gains her rightful place in her husband’s life which has made ‘Kam Zarf’ a treat to watch.

Hashim’s demanding role has been well played by her, with the spark her emotions and expressions create onscreen.

It may however work well in her favour if we see a slight change in her roles.

Hashim’s characters are mostly portraying a damsel in distress and it would be nice to see some variation from that in her future roles. She deserves is some flashing and bold characters in dramas and as a performing art graduate, her skills are worth trying for different categories of acting roles. All in all, Hashim has successfully shown us her real potential and we know for a fact that a different role would further unleash her acting skills, doing them much justice!
