Sir: No federal government be it of PPP, PML(N) or incumbent PTI wants to borrow loans for running the national affairs and more importantly carrying out developmental activities in different sectors if everyone is paying taxes and duties due from him. But most unfortunately, if only one per cent of entire population is paying taxes despite palatial bungalows and luxury cars flourishing everywhere then the government has to seek bailout packages.
Instead of merely criricising the government, political leaders should be asking the people at large to pay their due taxes promptly considering it as an obligation towards nation and the country.
Ulemas and mashaikhs enjoy immense popularity, influence and control over the people. It is a bitter fact that country’s populations continue to grow rapidly eating out the limited resources. They should be continuously urging their followers to plan their families to ensure they are able to provide them good living, education and health to their children. In this manner, they will be shouldering their obligation to the nation and the country as population growth has to be controlled to ensure it remains within reasonable limits of two or three children only.
This earnest appeal is being made only to remind all to shoulder our obligations towards the nation and the country, please. Thanks.
