Sir: Immediately after the attack on two mosques in Christchurch in New Zealand, almost whole leadership of the world have offered their sincere condolences to the families of innocent victims and condemned the act of violence rigorously either through media message or via popular tweeter. While this incident has outraged the entire world, of India, despite having Muslim population of 201 million and thus making Islam second-largest religion of India, it is hard to believe that Prime Minister Narendra Modi did not bother to condemn this attack who otherwise is well-known for being a compulsive and super-active tweeter. Being a PM of (so-called) largest democracy, Mr Modi could not show a moral courage to denounce the terrorism. Most probably, there may be two reasons for his deliberate condemnation: his inherited hatred towards Muslims right from the beginning and a calculated political move to appease his Hindu far-right nationalist base in the run up to coming elections of India.
