RAWALPINDI: A four day anti-polio drive has been scheduled to commence on January 16, where polio drops will be administered to over 0.8 million children aged below five. In order to make the anti-polio drive successful, two drops of polio drug will be administered to children aging below five years. Executive District Officer Health Dr Rashid Sabir said that all the arrangements in regard to the drive had been completed, with the Rawalpindi health department targeting the administration of polio drops to 0.811708 million children. He further announced that around 1950 mobile teams had been set-up, while 111 transits points had been established for the anti-polio campaign. He added that 269 fixed centers had also been set-up. He advised citizens to cooperate with polio teams in eradicating the disease and making the drive successful. Sabir said that a strong monitoring system had been made to monitor the anti-polio drive, while stern action would be taken against personnel found to be negligent.
