University of Bradford to host ‘Destination Bradford’ events in Pakistan

A high-powered delegation led by the University of Bradford’s Vice-Chancellor Professor Brian Cantor, a group of Senior University academics and staff will be visiting Pakistan to meet with our partners, alumni and stakeholders.

As part of this trip, the university if hosting three ‘Destination Bradford’ events which will attract alumni, stakeholders and partners from across the higher education sector.

Those joining the delegation include Professor Amir Sharif, Professor Tahir Khan, Dr Afshin Shahi, Dr Rianne Lord and Dr Jyoti Mishra. The delegation also includes notable community leaders from Bradford City including Syima Aslam, Director of Bradford Literature Festival and Amjad Pervez who is the Chairman of Jumpstart Pakistan. The professional services team is led by Mr Mark Garratt, Mark Garratt, Director of External Affairs and includes Ismat Abu-Shihab, Director of Regional Hub Dubai, Lisa Denham, Operations Manager, Naheeda Kauser, International Student Support & UKVI Compliance Manager, Jonaid Khan, Alumni Manager and Regional Manager, Fahd Asif.

Located in the vibrant city of Bradford in the picturesque Yorkshire region of the United Kingdom, the University of Bradford is considered as one of the world’s leading technology universities, providing high-quality teaching, underpinned by cutting-edge research with practical applications to solve tomorrow’s problems. The University is committed to helping all its students to lead fulfilling lives, become global citizens, and make a difference to the world.

Mark Garratt, Director of External Affairs said “We are extremely excited about this trip and the potential it has for both the Bradford region and Pakistan. We have a packed schedule including meetings with senior government officials, events with our amazing and successful alumni and supporting the outstanding Lahore Literature Festival. We hope to see lots of new partnerships emerge from the trip and hopefully inspire many prospective students to apply to Bradford.”

Fahd Asif, Regional Manager said, “As part of this trip, we are pleased to launch the new £4,000 Vice-Chancellor’s Award for students from Pakistan. Students applying from Pakistan will be eligible for a special £4,000 scholarship in addition to several half-fee scholarships and external fully funded awards as well. Information on how to apply for these scholarships can be found on our website.”

The “Destination Bradford” events which will be showcasing education and culture from the City of Bradford are taking place in Lahore on Saturday, 23rd of February, in Islamabad on Tuesday, 26th of February and the final stop will be in Karachi on Thursday, 28th of February.
