Punjab Governor Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar claimed on Wednesday that it is not on the cards of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf’s government to dismantle any of provincial government and all such allegations are baseless. “There is no political victimisation in our government as all the cases against Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party leadership were made in the previous tenures and our government will definitely take care of the smaller provinces,” he said while talking to reporters at Governor’s House. He was addressing the ceremony that was organised by Sarwar Foundation in connection with handing over 100 sewing machines to women prisoners living in different prisons of the province. “Pakistan is facing numerous challenges including education and health as more than 1.1 million people die annually due to drinking unhygienic water,” he said, while adding that his government will ensure the provision of clean drinking water in the whole province in next five years. He further added that the government is establishing an authority named Aab-e-Pak Authority soon that will work for the provision of clean drinking water in the province because most of the patients admit in the hospital due to water-borne diseases here. He was of the opinion that many philanthropists and generous people including many none-governmental organisations are also taking part in this noble cause. According to the Punjab governor, he is focusing on the poorest areas of the province while also focusing on the prisoners of the jails for this project. “We have given free of cost medicines of hepatitis to over 15,000 prisoners as our 1/5th population is suffering from this disease,” Chaudhry Muhammad Sarwar said. Muhammad Sarwar further added that he will establish vocational and training institutes for female prisoners of the province as he has already paid fines of prisoners who were living in the jails with a liability of fines less than Rs 100,000. He said on the occasion that their requirements for sewing machines for women prisoners were just of 500 machines but he received the commitment of 1,100 from generous people in just three days.
