The Federal Minister for Maritime Affairs Ali Haider Zaidi criticized Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) co-chairman Asif Ali Zardari and said that he had looted the entire country and he ‘will be punished like a decoit for his wrongdoings’. Speaking to media after inaugurating a library at Pakistan Navy (PN) Shipping Corporation on Monday, the minister said that, “a thief, dacoit, murderer has no respect and Zardari will not be spared.” In response to Zardari’s criticism of the current federal government, Zaidi said, “Zardari did not plunder (the country) within his limits, he rather plundered the whole country.” Lambasting Zardari, he said, “I tell him that he is arrogant and he will be sentenced like a dacoit for whatever he did,” the federal minister said. The federal minister also criticised the development of conceding the chairmanship of Public Accounts Committee (PAC) to Shehbaz Sharif and said for the sake of democracy that a ‘bitter pill had to be swallowed.’ He said that the decision would send a negative message. Earlier on Sunday, former president Asif Ali Zardari at a gathering of party members in Hyderabad criticized the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) government and said that the party had not been brought through ballot so it did not care about people.
