A play called ‘Aakhri Raat’ (Last Night) was staged by Arts Council of Pakistan on the fifth day of Sindh Theatre Festival in Karachi. The play was written by Mumtaz Mirza and directed by Shah Jahan Narejo. The play was staged and performed at Arts Council Auditorium. The drama was a part of on-going Sindh Theater Festival by Arts Council of Karachi with the collaboration of Sindh Culture Department. This play “Aakhari Raat” was an attempt to bridge the modern with the ancient Sindhi Harappa civilization. When a young researcher reaches Mohanjo Doro to find out something for his research he encounters the ancient people and their lords. In other terms, he manages to reach thousand years back in the real time without a time machine. The ongoing Sindh Theatre Festival will last till November 18. 20 Urdu and Sindhi plays will be showcased on the occasion. Published in Daily Times, November 9th 2018.
