ISLAMABAD: Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi on Friday said that the federal government has decided to appoint new envoys in key world capitals.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi while addressing a media conference said that Nafees Zakaria would be the new Pakistani high commissioner to London, while Dr Asad Majeed will be appointed as new envoy to United States of America.
He underscored that Raja Ali Aijaz will be posted in Riyadh as the new ambassador, while Hamid Asghar Khan, Shehryar Akbar Khan and Ahmed Ali will be appointed to Rabat, Serbia and Dubai respectively.
The foreign minister, however, stated that the appointments will take some time as the matter has already been discussed with the prime minister.
He said that all appointments included ‘career diplomats’
Sahibzada Ahmed Khan will discharge from diplomatic responsibilities in Havana, he concluded.
