
Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar said on Friday that problems of the people are my own and a state-of-the-art complaint cell will be established at CM Office to solve them at the earliest.
“The working of this cell will be directly monitored by me. My association with the people is strengthened than ever now,” he was talking to federal minister for petroleum, assembly members, Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leaders and different delegations who separately called on him at his office.
The Punjab chief minister listened to the grievances of the people and issued on-the-spot instructions for their redressal.
Talking on the occasion, the Punjab CM said that the incumbent government inherited a devastated economy. However, the difficult time will not prevail upon any more and this temporary interlude will soon be over because we believe in action and practical steps will continue for the benefit of the people.
The CM said that past tenure was a decade of exhibitory projects and hollow slogans. However, it’s not in vogue anymore now. Those who will perform and serve the people will continue serving on their posts, he added. He said that PTI has emerged as a strong symbol of positive change in the country. The necessities of common man are well taken care of in the budget and a number of steps are taken to improve the social sector. A culture of austerity and simplicity is the conspicuous hallmark of PTI. Every job has been done on merit and only the merit-based culture will be followed. He made it clear that there is no room for corrupt elements adding that a policy of zero-tolerance has been adopted against the corruption.
Punjab CM Sardar Usman Buzdar regretted that opposition wants to deviate the attention of the government from problems of the people but the incumbent government will fulfill the trust of the people given in shape of their mandate in the elections. The opposition is engaged in the politics of non-issues and in fact, opponents are unnerved over their dark political career, he added. He reiterated that promise of public welfare will be fulfilled at every cost. Punjab is being transformed as like Pakistan and the promise of change will be fulfilled, the chief minister concluded.
Those who called on the CM included Federal Petroleum Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan, Provincial Assembly Members including Syed Samsam Ali Shah Bukhari, Ahmed Ali Aulakh, Sahibzada Ghazeen Abbasi, Muhammad Atif, Umar Aftab Dhillon, Khurram Ejaz Chattha, Mian Khalid Mahmood, Shamim Aftab, Iffat Firdous Rai, Momina Waheed, Zara Naqvi and former district nazim Sahiwal Rai Hassan Nawaz.
Separately, Sardar Usman Buzdar approved to increase the number of arazi centres under land record management system in Punjab.
This decision was taken in a high-level meeting at CM Office.
While according approval to increase the number of arazi centres, the CM said that the scope of these centres will be extended. In the first phase, 102 new arazi centres will be established. The meeting also decided that 20 mobile vans will be procured for their use as mobile arazi centres. These mobile arazi centre vans will be sent to far-flung and remote areas according to the needs and requirements of the people.
Usman Buzdar said that instructions have been issued to identify the land for the establishment of new arazi centres and work will be done speedily to establish them soon. He maintained that this programme will facilitate the general public and increased number of arazi centres will provide them a definite relief. The CM directed to constitute a technical committee to deal with price identification and procurement of mobile vans. He further directed that concerned departments should leave no stone unturned for the establishment of new centres.
MPAs Malik Muhammad Anwar, Hashim Jawan Bakht, planning and development chairman, additional chief secretary, finance secretary, Lahore commissioner and others attended the meeting.
Separately, a delegation of all Punjab Audit Staff Association of Zakat Department led by Muhammad Shakeel Soomro called Buzdar and apprised him of their problems.
They said that a number of zakat department employees have not been made permanent since long. The CM assured that their demands would be heard sympathetically and steps would be taken soon in this regard.
