Adviser to Sindh chief minister (CM) on Information, Sindh on Information Barrister MurtazaWahab strongly reacted to federal information minister’s press conference in which he stated that the federal government would curtail the rights and quotas given to provinces under the NFC Award. While condemning federal information minister’s statement, MurtazaWahab said that the decision regarding NFC Awards was taken with accordance to the Constitution. He added that establishing a task force in Sindh was against provincial autonomy. Barrister Wahab said that the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) was trying to fool people by playing political games. Speaking regarding PTI parliamentarian Haleem Adil Shaikh’s statement, Barrister Wahab said that Adil was a product of dictatorship and seeking his advice regarding democracy was ‘ridiculous’. Murtazasaid that the PPP leadership had sacrificed their lives for the cause of democracy. Adviser further said that the statement of the federal minister was an intervention in provincial affairs. “The PPP is the party of the public and is following the vision of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto,” he said. Barrister Wahab said that such type of statements created infirmity complex in small provinces. Hr further said that the fedeal government should refrain in the future. “Otherwise, the people will stand against their undemocratic attitude,” he added. MurtazaWahab said that Imran Khan-led federal government had completely failed to provide relief to common people. He then advised the Centre to avoid taking any more anti-people measures.
