THARPARKAR: Four more children passed away on Friday due to malnutrition in Sindh’s Tharparkar, as death toll continues to rise. According to the latest numbers, 13 children in the month of September died due to malnutrition, while 432 in 2018. Moreover, 40 minors died in August. Every year almost 1,500 children die due to malnutrition, infections, and lack of proper medical facilities in the remote region, the health department reported. Pakistan is among those countries where the infant mortality rate is very high and at least 22 minors die before turning one month old, the United Nation’s Children Fund reported in April this year.
