ISLAMABAD: Hospitals in Rawalpindi under the jurisdiction of Allied authorities have increased X-ray fees by Rs 100. Patients would now be required to pay a single X-ray fee amounting to Rs 200 and double X-ray fees of Rs 300 in all three of the hospitals including the Benazir Bhutto General Hospital, Holy Family Hospital and District Headquarters Hospital. The decision to increase X-ray fees has been taken in a meeting of the Board of Management in order to meet the day to day increasing expenses of the hospitals. Citizens have voiced strong protests over the seemingly arbitrary jacking up of X-ray fees by hospital management. They argued that poor people should be provided X-ray facilities free of cost however the government had instead increased the fees which was beyond any logic. People from all segments of society in Rawalpindi demanded the reversal of the increase.
