ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) has recommended an increase in petroleum prices by 1st August.
In the summary that OGRA submitted to the Power Division, it was suggested there should be an increase of 2.75 PKR/litre in petroleum prices, 3PKR/litre in diesel prices and 4PKR/litre in kerosene prices.
However, it is plausible that the Interim Government will leave the decision of implementation to the new government. In July, the Interim Government increased the prices of petrol from Rs7.54 to Rs99.50 per litre, diesel from Rs14 to Rs119.3 per litre and kerosene oil from Rs3.36 to Rs87.7 per litre.
However, after the Supreme Court took notice of these increases the Interim Government was forced to reduces the prices, once more.
