When Bollywood actress, Priyanka Chopra and American singer, Nick Jonas finally decided to tie the knot after two months of dating, the couple’s friends, family and colleagues were thrilled for them. But not all are ecstatic for Chopra. According to an Indian publication, one of the producers of ‘Bharat’ called the ‘Quantico’ star “unprofessional” for leaving the film. ‘Bharat’ director Ali Abbas Zafar sent out a tweet on Friday informing that Chopra will no longer be a part of his new film due to a “very very special” reason. “Yes Priyanka Chopra is no more part of @Bharat_TheFilm & and the reason is very very special , she told us in the Nick of time about her decision and we are very happy for her … Team Bharat wishes @priyankachopra loads of love & happiness for life,” he had written. However, Nikhil Namit, CEO, Reel Life Productions, has told Mid-Day that he is unhappy with Chopra’s decision to quit the film on such short notice. “Priyanka told us she had to exit due to her engagement, two days ago. It was a little unprofessional of her to do it so suddenly,” he told the daily. The report also suggests that the film’s lead star, Salman Khan is now in hyperdrive to find Chopra’s replacement for the film and that Katrina Kaif and Jacqueline Fernandez seem to be the most likely choices. Katrina has previously worked with Salman in ‘Tiger Zinda Hai,’ ‘Ek Tha Tiger,’ ‘Maine Pyaar Kyun Kia,’ while Jacqueline has worked with him in ‘Kick’ and ‘Race 3.’ Meanwhile, Chopra has started work on Shonali Bose’s ‘The Sky Is Pink.’ Chopra will play a mother in the movie which also stars Farhan Akhtar and Zaira Wasim. Roy Kapur Films shared a short video on their Instagram page of the crew getting together and ideating about the film. Chopra joined the film earlier this month. Chopra and Jonas met at the 2017 Met Gala where they represented Ralph Lauren together. Their relationship rumours began in late May, when they were spotted together on several occasions. They arrived in India in June for a short holiday and were spotted together on her birthday. Published in Daily Times, July 29th 2018.
