LARKANA: Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari on Monday said that party office bearers and workers were not afraid of any sort of ‘phone calls’ and will not be pressurised. Addressing party workers at Bakrani road, Bilawal said that PPP knows how to respond to politics of mud-slinging but it does not believe in doing so. He added that the people are aware of the conpiracies and will respond befittingly on July 25. “We all know what Imran Khan and Maulana Fazl-ur-Rahman have been saying against each other but they have joined hands against PPP and that the bat is working on diesel,” Bilawal criticised political opponents, also calling them ‘puppet alliances’. Bilawal said that PPP faced dictatorship of Zia-ul-Haq and Pervaiz Musharraf, hence the party or the workers were not bothered by ‘puppet’ alliances who aim to compete against the PPP. He said PPP believes in ideological and principled politics and will continue to resolve issues faced by the masses. “Our struggle is not against any political party or any politician, rather our fight is against poverty, unemployment, hatred, extremism and highhandedness,” the PPP supremo said. He also vowed to closely monitor the performance of each and every one of his parliamentarians. Turning guns towards Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA), Bilawal said that GDA claim to ‘save’ Sindh but consists of individuals who want to divide the province. “They also claim to end corruption, but one particular ex-CM, who was ousted over corruption allegations, sits among them,” he added. Bilawal vowed to introduce poverty reduction programs, with interest-free loans, throughout the country if PPP succeeds in forming federal government. He also promised to provide facilities to farmers saying that they will be registered and Benazir Kissan Card will be issued to them under which their crops will be insured and during natural calamities, growers will be saved from losses. The PPP chief said he was proud and honoured to contest from the same seat as Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto and Begum Nusrat Bhutto had contested, adding that he has conducted a country-wide campaign and people have warmly welcomed him, but the love and affection of the Larkana presidents to PPP was unmatched.
