JACOBABAD: A 27-year-old Hindu woman was recovered on Monday night after being abducted by two armed men from Quetta road in Jacobabad while she was returning from a local temple after worship. According to the Jacobabad police sources, Sandhiya Kumari, wife of Ravi Kumar and resident of Shah Ghazi Mohalla, went to a local temple with her mother-in-law and two children. Meanwhile, two abductors identified as Kiran Kumar, a resident of Jacobabad, and Abdul Zahid Brohi, a resident of Balochistan province kidnapped her at gunpoint, and managed to flee from the spot. After much hue and cry over the incident, the area police rushed to the spot and started investigation into the incident. Besides, several leaders of Hindu community including Lal Chand Setilai, Siri Chand Bhawani, the Jacobabad Chamber of Commerce president Ali Ahmed Brohi led a protest and blocked Indus Highway with burning tires. Several markets were shut down amid unrest in the area. Consequently, the Jacobabad police closed all exit and entry routes of the city. After tremendous efforts, the police recovered her in the immediate vicinity of Sasoli police station in Qambar-Shahdadkot district. The police arrested the abductors and lodged a case against them on behalf of Ravi Kumar under relevant law at the City police station. Further investigation is underway.
