LARKANA: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh Chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Tuesday denounced political rivals, and termed the “tactics of obfuscation against party’s leadership” as a conspiracy against democratic norms. Reportedly, he addressed several corner meetings and door-to-door campaigns as part of election drive in Larkana. “However, our party will defend democracy at all costs,” he said adding that the new cases being lodged against the PPP’s leadership aim to create new hurdles for the party ahead of the general elections. Khuhro recalled that several cases were lodged against PPP’s leadership in the past, but no proof could be found. “Our political rivals have gone absolutely insane after observing the general public’s support for PPP after Bilawal Bhutto Zardari launched a massive election campaign in the Saraiki belt of Punjab,” he further said. He further criticised the opponents of PPP for using unfair means to resist the party’s election campaign. “Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has gathered all corrupt politicians and ‘Lotas’ (turncoats), whereas Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) comprises of enemies of Sindh and political ‘Nosar Baz’, who aim to deceive the people of Sindh by shedding ‘crocodile tears’,” he claimed adding that they would be dispersed after elections. He expressed hope that Pakistan Peoples Party would secure majority of the votes in the upcoming general election, and come out with flying colours. Published in Daily Times, July 11th 2018.
