President of the Sindh chapter of Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Nisar Ahmed Khuhro, in a statement issued on Sunday, condemned the stoppage of his party chief’s convoy by Punjab police to visit shrine in Uch Sharif. In his statement, Khuhro said that it was the right of every party and candidate to run their election campaign. “Stopping our Chairman from going to Uch Sharif and removing keys from the vehicles are highly condemned,” said Khuho. Khuho said that the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) and Supreme Court should take notice of this act. He said that it was unjust to allow only selective people to campaign freely. Khuhro said that the PPP was not afraid of such tactics. “By stopping Bilawal in Punjab, rigging has already started before election,” said Khuhro. PPP Chairman Bilawal was stopped by the Punjab Police on his visit to a shrine in Uch Sharif on Saturday night. PPP activists burnt tyres on Jinnah Bagh roundabout and held a protest demonstration against the incident. They were led by Fatah Bhutto, Aijaz Laghari and others.
