LARKANA: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) provincial chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Saturday alleged that a conspiracy was being hatched by his political rivals to halt him from participating in the upcoming general elections, and vowed to defeat such ‘chessmen’ through the support of the general public. Reportedly, he addressed a corner meeting in union council (UC-2) of Larkana district as part of his election campaign and gather public’s support. “Nida Khuhro will defeat our opponents,” he vowed. The PPP has awarded party ticket to Khuhro’s daughter after his disqualification to contest election for provincial assembly seat PS-11. “Instead of adopting such tactics, our opponents should have faced me in the elections,” he said adding that Grand Democratic Alliance (GDA) means ‘Goli Danda Ittehad (Alliance)’ while making an utter mockery of their political rivals. He alleged that GDA allied with such ‘forces’ who aim to split and divide Sindh. Khuhro further criticised the ‘disgruntled’ PPP activists, who abandoned the party after they were not issued party tickets and said that if the party had issued tickets to them, then they would called PPP ‘a good party’. “PPP’s opponent forces have joined, who disliked each other, in form of GDA,” he added while vowing that PPP would secure victory against GDA and other political opponents in the upcoming polls. He further revealed that disputes have started to emerge within the ‘kitchen cabinet’ of GDA as the party lacks integrity, discipline and coherence. Later, he urged the people of Ratodero to cast votes in favour of PPP, and termed it as the only party which fought to secure fundamental rights of the general public of Pakistan.
