LARKANA: The Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh Chief Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Wednesday announced to observe ‘black day’ today (July 5) to recall the day when dictator Zia-ul-Haq overthrew the democratically elected government on July 5, 1977. Reportedly, PPP workers were issued plans to carry out rallies across the province and condemn Zia’s abuse of power. “Due to dictatorships, the country was plunged into darkness and the general public suffered a lot, while PPP continued peaceful struggle to support democratic norms,” he said. He denounced political rivals and non-democratic actors to suppress the vision of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, and asserted that they failed while he continued to live in the hearts of people of Pakistan. “Grand Democratic Alliance is a product of dictatorship and people would reject their candidates in the upcoming general elections,” he said.
