LARKANA: The Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Sindh President Nisar Ahmed Khuhro on Saturday strongly refuted the allegations made by Sardar Ali Gohar Khan Mahar against PPP as ‘baseless’ and ‘confused’. Reportedly, he vowed to defeat political rivals in the upcoming general elections. “Political mosquitoes need to be fumigated in Sindh, and those who had left the party, would soon recognise that they have ruined their political career,” he said while denouncing Karachi’s Mayor Waseem Akhter’s demand of probing into Larkana development funds and asserting that Akhter should also be probed for Karachi’s development fund of Rs 10 billion. “Akhter seeks dictatorial powers, but there would be no tyrannical regime in the country, and so he would not enjoy such powers,” he added while claiming that Akhter has been incompetent and negligent mayor of Karachi. Meanwhile, PPP activists held a demonstration at Chandka Bridge, where the CJP was expected to pass through, and demanded justice for what they called ‘a judicial murder of Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’ and inclusion of Pervez Musharraf in the investigation of Benazir Bhutto’s assassination. The protest was led by PPP Larkana president Abdul Fatah Bhutto, Noordin Abro, Shakeel Memon and others while they were holding placards and banners inscribed with their demands.
