Police arrest 245 suspects, seize weapons, narcotics

KHAIRPUR: The Naushahro Feroze Police has arrested 245 alleged criminals including proclaimed offenders during raids in May 2018 on suspected hideouts, and seized weapons and drugs from their possession.

Reportedly, the Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Imran Qureshi issued directives to the officers, who conducted 39 raids, and arrested 49 proclaimed offenders, 80 absconders and 34 drug peddlers.

Meanwhile, the police also detained 5.13 kilos of Chars, 2,287 liters of alcohol, 55 bottles of whiskey, 144 kilos of Bhang and cash.

Moreover, the police officers impounded another 13 criminals who possessed two shot guns, nine pistols, 33 rounds of ammunition and eight cartridges.

Furthermore, the police officers recovered several packets of Gutka and 161 packets of explosive substances from seven alleged criminals and lodged two criminal charges against them.

Following National Action Plan that was adopted in 2015 to combat terrorism, the police authorities filed cases against four accused under violation of Loudspeaker Act to incite hatred and violence in society.

The policemen also seized one wagon, six cars and two motorcycles worth Rs 10 million.

Meanwhile, the traffic police challaned over 1045 vehicle owners for violating the rules, and recovered Rs 372,650 as fine from the offenders.
