SHIKARPUR: The Shikarpur deputy commissioner (DC) Syed Hassan Raza on Sunday issued directives to assistant commissioners (AC) of all talukas including Lakhi Ghulam Shah, Khanpur, Ghari Yasin and Shikarpur to strictly follow and implement the Ramazan ordinance and impose fine on profiteers if they charge extra amount on the eatables in the Islamic month of Ramazan. Following the directives, the Shikarpur AC Syed Arbab Ali Shah, Mukhtiarkar Zahid Bhatti visited several markets and recovered Rs8,000 fine while Khanpur AC Umair Memon recovered Rs2,000 fine. The Lakhi Ghulam Shah AC imposed Rs4,000 fine, whereas, Ghari Yasin AC imposed Rs2,000 fine on the profiteers. Meanwhile, the total amount of Rs17,400 was deposited in the national exchequer. The DC ordered concerned officers to continue monitoring prices of the eatables to ensure relief to the people of Shikarpur.
