Zardari can’t dodge accountability: Nawaz

Published on: April 30, 2018 3:49 PM

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Nawaz Sharif on Monday said that Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari can not dodge accountability for long.

“Zardari Sahab, you will also be held accountable for your actions. Look at the condition of Karachi. The children of Thar are dying of hunger, there is no proper waste management system in the city. What has the Sindh government done?” Nawaz questioned while speaking to the media outside the accountability court.

Speaking about PTI’s grand rally at Minar-e-Pakistan on Sunday night in Lahore, Nawaz said that “the jalsa was in Lahore but PTI’s attendees came all the way from Peshawar, while the agenda was someone else.”

He added that in comparison to Sindh, KP and Balochistan, the situation in Punjab is “exemplary” and if PML-N’s agenda of “social welfare” is given 10-20 years, the situation of Pakistan will change for the better.

Taking jabs at Senate Chairman Sadiq Sanjrani, the former premier said that “a person who is not even known by his neighbours was appointed as the Senate Chairman” and that the “horse-traders” are now wanting to replicate the Senate polls during the general elections 2018.

Lauding the PML-N ruling government, Nawaz said that “Zardari and Musharraf did not stand up against terrorism since they were afraid to” and that it was the PML-N which brought a decisive end to terrorism through the country via its efforts.
