KHAIRPUR: Two children at the Khairpur City Hospital died due to alleged shortage of oxygen on Saturday.
According to details, two children – Fahad Shar and Waqar Jagirani – were admitted to the City Hospital due to various diseases and they died on early Saturday morning due to alleged shortage of oxygen.
Parents of the deceased held a protest at against the hospital’s administrations. Talking to journalists, they alleged that their children died due to shortage of oxygen at the hospital and negligence of doctors. They demanded action against doctors and said they would file a case against doctors.
Separately, the Sindh High Court Sukkur bench Sukkur Saturday issued notices to 55 officials, including 35 government doctors, of Khairpur district for running private clinics.
A local, Muhammad Hassan Lashari, through his counsel Nadeem Ahmed Malik, had filed a petition against 35 doctors working at various government hospitals of Khairpur district.
After the conclusion of arguments, the court issued notice to 55 officials, including Sindh health secretary, health director general, Khairpu district health officer, Sukkur commissioner, deputy commissioner, Sindh Police inspector general, DIG, Khairpur SSP, and several doctors, including Dr Abdul Waheed Kalwar, Dr Bushra Ramejo, Dr Afroze Lashari, Dr Tarique Mangi, Dr Kalsoom Azad, Dr Rattan Kumar, Dr Karpal Makheja, Dr Ejaz Hussain Gajani, Dr Akhatr Hussain Phull, Dr Azad Lashari, Dr Muhammad Hussain Abro, Dr Dharam Pal, Dr Javed Ahmed Samo, Dr Abdul Ghaffar Shaikh of Gambat, Dr Majid Ali Mangi, Dr Sakina, Dr Zaibuun Nissa Memon, Dr Naseem Shaikh, Dr Abida Shaikh, Dr Khalida Mangi, Dr Anees Chana, Dr Shahid Bhatti, Dr Hidayatullah Shah, Dr Pavan Kumar and Dr Kainat, and directed them to appear before the court on May 10.
The petitioner stated that the doctors were operating private clinics and advising patients to visit their clinics instead of examining them at government hospitals.
One dead, 14 injured in road accident
A boy died and 14 others injured in a road accident near Naushahro Feroze when a passenger wagon plunged into a nullah on Saturday.
According to details, a passenger wagon was going to Kandiaro from Nawabshah when it plunged into a nullah while trying to save a motorcyclist.
The injured were shifted to Naushahro Feroze Hospital for treatment while body of boy was handed over to his relatives.
Separately, two boys died and another one injured when an electricity pole fell on them in Dalar Dahiri village on Saturday.
Abdul Ghafoor solangi, 15, and Mohsin Ali solnagi, 12, died on the spot while 14-year-old Abdul Hayee Solangi got injured. He was shifted to a hospital where his condition was said to be stable.
Two bodies found hanging
The body of Sanwalo Jamali School security guard was found hanging from the roof at the school’s premises in the jurisdiction of A-Section Police Station on Saturday.
Some villagers spotted the body and informed police. Police shifted the body to Civil Hospital for medico legal formalities. Police said that the security guard was killed before being hanged. Police did not register the case of incident till the filing of story.
Separately, the body of a 10-year-old girl was found hanging from a fan in her house in Sardar Pitafi village on Saturday.
The body was shifted to a hospital for an autopsy, which was delayed for 20 hours due to absence of a lady doctor.
The father of deceased strongly condemned the attitude of police and hospital. He alleged that that a man, Wahab Gadani, had killed her daughter.
