GARHI KHUDA BAKHSH: Opposition leader in the Senate and Pakistan People’s Party central leader Sherry Rehman Tuesday said that the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was involved in disrespecting parliament. The PPP leadership does not want confrontation among institutions, she said while speaking to journalists offering prayers at the graves of Bhuttos in Garhi Khuda Bakhsh. The senator said that conspiracies were being hatched against the PPP. She alleged that former prime minister Nawaz Sharif wanted to make institutions hostage. “The role of Maulvi Mushtaque and Anwarul Haq is before everybody. The PPP does not believe in politics of confrontation.” She categorically declared that PPP would not fall prey to any conspiracy. Taking a jibe at the PML-N, she said that people were facing worst electricity load shedding in the entire country unlike their tall claims of eliminating it. “Whenever the PML-N finds itself in a quagmire it starts speaking about Charter of Democracy,” she said, adding that the party would resist against anyone seeking to derail democracy. The PPP respects democratic institutions and never resorts to politics of violence,” she added. Replying to a question, the senator said that the PPP would not allow construction of any controversial dam, including Kala Bagh dam. She claimed that Bilawal Bhutto Zardari would win upcoming general elections from the entire country. Rashid Rabbani, Waqar Mehdi and others were also present on the occasion.
