Pakistan Day celebrated in Moscow

Published on: March 25, 2018 3:11 AM

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Day was celebrated in a befitting manner at a reception hosted by Pakistan Embassy in Moscow.

Large number of foreign diplomats, Russian think tank members, representatives of different Russian media outlets and members of Pakistani community attended the gathering hosted at the official residence of Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia Qazi Khalilullah. For the first time, Baloch leader Dr Jumma Khan Marri and his supporters from Baloch diaspora also attended the gathering.

Talking to media on the occasion, Marri claimed that he is receiving life threats after his announcement of disassociation from the so-called ‘Baloch Independence Movement’. “But, I want to convey all these disgruntled Baloch leaders that I will never step back and will confront them at all forums. Soon I am going to launch an organisation from Moscow – Overseas Pakistani Baloch Unity – to expose these elements. The organisation will work for expulsion of such anti-Pakistan elements from Europe,” he said, adding that some important personalities from Baloch diaspora will also join his movement.

“How come terrorists like Brahamdagh Bugti, Hyrbyair Marri and Mehran Marri are allowed to run their organisations like BRA, BLA and UBA from UK and Switzerland,” he wondered. “Why international media is quite on these Indian sponsored so-called Baloch leaders who are carrying out terrorist activities in Pakistan while enjoying luxurious life in Europe,” he added.

The Baloch leader congratulated the overseas Pakistani community in Russia on Pakistan Day. He also appreciated Pakistan’s embassy in Moscow for arranging the event and also inviting them to it. Earlier in the morning, a flag hoisting ceremony was also conducted at the embassy premises.
