SHARJAH: West Indies and Lahore Qalandars all-rounder Sunil Narine has once again been reported for illegal bowling action during the Pakistan Super League game against Quetta Gladiators.
“Narine has now been placed on the warning list and may continue to be selected to play and bowl for his team in the PSL,” the PCB said in a statement.
As per the ICC rules for bowling action, if a bowler is reported while he is already on warning then the player will be suspended from the remaining tournament but the player can be picked at the side.
Narine was suspended from bowling in international cricket after his illegal action was reported during an ODI in Sri Lanka on November 2015. However, he was cleared by the ICC in all formats just before two days of the IPL in 2016.
Narine was also earlier suspected for a illegal bowling action during the Champions League 2014 and IPL 2015, but the second time, he was let off with just a warning from the BCCI.
“The match officials report on Narine’s bowling action will be sent to Cricket West Indies (CWI) and he will have to go through the process that is followed by the CWI, for suspected illegal bowling actions.”
The match’s official report will be soon forwarded to West Indies Cricket Board for further action.
