LAHORE: Senator Mushahid Hussain on Wednesday resigned from his Pakistan Muslim League-Quaid (PML-Q) seat in the upper house. The PML-Q dissident leader will be contesting the upcoming Senate elections on Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) ticket. Mushahid submitted his resignation on February 5, which was accepted by Senate Chairman Raza Rabbani. Mushahid had parted ways with the PML-Q and joined Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N). He announced his decision of joining PML-N during his meeting with ousted prime minister Nawaz Sharif at Jati Umra on February 6. Accepting gracious invitation by Mian Sahib to join PML-N at a time of crisis, when the Party is under severe pressure, recalled 1993, similar circumstances, to join the struggle for sanctity of the ballot.
