LAHORE: Punjab University Vice Chancellor Prof Dr. Zaffar Mueen Nasar Friday inaugurated PUCIT’s online admission system. Every year the PUCIT attracts more than 16,000 students from all over the country to take entrance tests for admission to various academic degree programmes at the college. This year PUCIT has built and deployed an automated online system to facilitate students to get themselves registered for entrance tests. According to a statement, the automated solution will allow students to register online, print challan forms, pay entrance test fee and print roll number slips. “The system will greatly facilitate students to complete the process of registration without visiting the campus. Previously, students were required to travel to the college premises and spend considerable time in long queues to complete the entrance test registration process.” The VC appreciated the PUCIT’s efforts in automating key business processes in the college for the sake of transparency and efficiency. He commended the efforts of a team of college teachers and staff, particularly Dr Shahid Farid, Dr Waheed Iqbal, Kamran Malik and Asim Siddique, for making it possible to develop the online admission system. On the first day of online registration, more than 1,500 applicants signed up and printed their challan forms to submit fee. “This year, the PUCIT expects to receive a record number of applicants due to this hassle-free automated and online process at their doorstep.
