LAHORE: Police have arrested a man accused of harassing the legendary cricketer Sachin Tendulkar’s daughter Sara Tendulkar.
According to police, Debkumar Maity, 32, threatened to kidnap Sara if she rejected his marriage proposal.
“He made several lewd comments during his phone calls and even went to the extent of threatening to kidnap her if she rejected his proposal of marriage,” a police official said.
Maity’s family members told the media that he was suffering from mental depression for the last few months and was also undergoing treatment.
He had seen Sara in the pavilion of a cricket stadium in Mumbai and got her number through one of his relatives.
However, police said they were investigating his claims.
