RAWALPINDI: Central Police Officer Rawalpindi Israr Abassi has directed the Rawalpindi Police to set up “Public Police Pace Committees” to control the growing crimes and speed-up the process of investigation. The decision has been taken to take help from the residents of Rawalpindi after the crime rate related to immoral activities, drug dealing and gambling along with complaints of public have been growing in Rawalpindi for the last few years. According to a notification issued by CPO Rawalpindi, the committees would be led by SHO of relevant police station, who would be finalizing the report within the seven days and submit the report to CPO Rawalpindi. He also expressed dissatisfaction over the measures taken by the police to control the growing crimes. The members of committee would comprise both police and public members. It is made compulsory that the members of the committee are persons of good repute.
