ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has disqualified the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister’s advisor on tourism, Abdul Munim, as a member of the provincial assembly for breaching the rules and regulations of elections. Sher Alam Khan, a rival candidate of Abdul Munim, had filed a petition in the ECP taking the plea that Abdul Munim had retired from government services a month before contesting the election. He said contended that as per the rules, one can contest polls two years after his retirement from government service. The ECP, while hearing the case, disqualified Abdul Munim, who was elected an MPA from PK-88 Shangla.
