Saudi Arabia has reported significant progress under its Vision 2030 reform programme, highlighting notable achievements in employment, women’s participation, healthcare, housing and tourism over the past decade.

According to the latest annual report, the number of Saudi nationals employed in the private sector has increased from 1.7 million to 2.6 million, while the unemployment rate has declined from 12.3% to 7.2%. The report attributes the improvement to labour market reforms, investment initiatives and programmes aimed at creating more employment opportunities for Saudi citizens.
Women’s participation in the workforce has also continued to rise, reaching 35%, while women now occupy 43.9% of middle and senior management positions. The figures reflect ongoing efforts to expand women’s role in the country’s economic and public sectors.
The report also highlighted improvements in quality-of-life indicators. Homeownership among Saudi citizens has reached 66.24%, while average life expectancy has increased to 79.7 years. In addition, 97.5% of the population now has access to healthcare services, reflecting continued investment in the kingdom’s healthcare infrastructure.
Saudi Arabia also reported strong growth in tourism, sports and entertainment as part of its strategy to diversify the economy beyond oil. The country is preparing to host the 2034 FIFA World Cup, while international events such as the Esports World Cup, new theme parks and large-scale tourism developments have strengthened its position as a global destination for visitors and investors.
Officials said Vision 2030 remains focused on transforming the Saudi economy by encouraging private-sector growth, attracting foreign investment and improving public services. The programme also aims to raise living standards, expand employment opportunities and position the kingdom as a leading regional hub for business, tourism, sports and innovation.

Since its launch in 2016, Vision 2030 has served as the government’s long-term roadmap for economic diversification and sustainable development. Saudi authorities say continued reforms and investment will help achieve the programme’s remaining objectives over the coming years.
