LARKANA: Larkana Range Deputy Inspector General Abdullah Shaikh has issued a security plan for conducting the population census in the division. According to the plan, the entire division has been divided into as many as 118 charges, 543 circles and 5,016 blocks. Larkana district has been given 27 charges, Kambar-Shahdadkot 32, Shikarpur 22, Jacobabad 18 and Kashmore 19 charges. The Larkana district will consist of 142 circles, Kambar 121, Shikarpur 98, Jacobabad 86 and Kashmore has been divided into 96 circles. Likewise, Larkana will have 1,335 blocks, Kambar 1,065, Shikarpur 851, Jacobabad 905 and Kashmore has been divided into 806 blocks. For headcount, a total of 7,096 police officers and security personnel have been assigned duties, which also include persons of the quick reaction force (QRF). From a security point of view, specific areas have been divided into two categories (A & B) – A category will be for very sensitive areas and B for sensitive areas. Around 209 areas have been identified as very sensitive, 41 areas have been determined as sensitive, where army, Rangers and police personnel have been given the task to conduct census. The DIG further said that control rooms had also been established in each district of the division to monitor the situation, along with the main control room in his office.
