Memon orders expedited work on Red Line BRT project

Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon has ordered to further accelerate the work of the most important Red Line BRT project for Karachi.

An important meeting was held under the chairmanship of Sindh Senior Minister and Provincial Minister for Information, Transport and Mass Transit Sharjeel Inam Memon to review the progress of the Red Line BRT project, in which the ongoing construction work on the project, progress in various stages, technical and administrative challenges faced and the future course of action were discussed in detail. The meeting was attended by Secretary Transport Asad Zamin, CEO Trans Karachi Zubair Channa, project consultants, engineers and other relevant officials.

During the meeting, the relevant officials gave a detailed briefing to Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon on the overall progress of the project, various construction packages, utility shifting, construction of BRT stations, depot, infrastructure and other important issues. On this occasion, the pace of work on various parts of the project, set targets, timeline and future phases were also informed.

Speaking in the meeting, Sindh Senior Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon said that the Red Line BRT is a very important public welfare project for the convenience of the people of Karachi and the modern transport system of the city, therefore, all the ongoing construction work on it should be further accelerated so that the project can be completed within the stipulated period. He directed that effective and practical steps be taken to complete each phase as per the set schedule and the stipulated timeline.

Sharjeel Inam Memon also emphasized that any technical or administrative hurdles hindering the completion of the project should be removed immediately and for this purpose, effective communication, better coordination and mutual cooperation between all relevant institutions should be further strengthened. He directed that all available resources be utilized to complete the Red Line BRT project with high standards, transparency, and in accordance with the set goals so that the citizens of Karachi can be provided with modern, safe, and quality travel facilities as soon as possible.
