China renewed its call for the United States and Iran to avoid further escalation after fresh military strikes. Beijing warned that continued conflict could undermine regional stability and diplomatic efforts. The appeal comes as tensions rise across the Middle East and affect regional security.
Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesman Lin Jian said Beijing was deeply concerned by the latest developments. His remarks followed US air strikes on Iranian military targets. According to US Central Command, the attacks responded to the downing of a US Army Apache helicopter. Meanwhile, Iran launched retaliatory attacks on several American military bases in the region.
Lin urged both sides to remain calm and exercise restraint. He called on Washington and Tehran to stop actions that could intensify the conflict. Furthermore, he stressed the need for political and diplomatic engagement. China also urged both countries to work toward an early and lasting ceasefire.
A day earlier, Beijing said military force had repeatedly failed to resolve regional disputes. Lin argued that the use of force only complicates existing challenges. He noted that the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel had already caused significant instability across the Gulf region. China also warned against any move that could derail ongoing Iran-US negotiations.
Meanwhile, Beijing reiterated its support for the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Middle Eastern nations. Chinese officials called on all parties to pursue dialogue instead of confrontation. The statement came amid reports of continued regional tensions and concerns over the fragile ceasefire environment. China said lasting peace can only be achieved through diplomacy and mutual restraint.
