Israel has reportedly halted strikes on Iran following a request from US President Donald Trump, according to Israeli media reports. The reported pause comes amid renewed military tensions across the Middle East. The move could help preserve fragile diplomatic efforts aimed at preventing a wider regional conflict.
Israeli broadcaster Channel 12, citing a senior Israeli official, reported that Israel had paused its operations against Iran after Trump’s intervention. The official said the situation remained highly volatile despite the reported decision. The claim has not been independently verified by other sources.

Meanwhile, the same official warned that continued attacks by Hezbollah on Israeli communities could trigger strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs. The report added that Israeli military operations in southern Lebanon were expected to continue at full intensity. Israeli authorities have not publicly confirmed the reported policy shift.
Earlier, Trump told Axios he planned to speak with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to discourage retaliation for Iran’s missile attacks. Trump said further escalation was unnecessary and could undermine efforts to secure a broader agreement. He also suggested that both sides should avoid actions that could reignite large-scale hostilities.

The developments follow Iranian missile launches in response to Israeli strikes on Beirut’s southern suburbs, one of the most serious flare-ups since the April 8 ceasefire. While Israel said its air defence systems intercepted incoming missiles, military officials indicated operational plans remained under review. The latest exchanges have intensified international concerns about a potential expansion of the conflict.
