Cairo also called on the international community to intervene and halt what it described as repeated violations of Lebanese sovereignty. The ministry stressed the need to protect Lebanon’s territorial integrity and support efforts aimed at reducing tensions. Officials warned that continued military escalation could worsen existing regional security challenges.
Furthermore, Egypt reaffirmed its support for Lebanon’s unity, sovereignty, and state institutions. The statement rejected attacks targeting Lebanese territory and official bodies. Cairo also reiterated its demand for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Lebanese territory and renewed support for diplomatic solutions to the conflict.

Egypt additionally urged the full implementation of UN Security Council Resolution 1701, adopted after the 2006 Lebanon war. The resolution calls for a cessation of hostilities and respect for the boundary between Lebanon and Israel. The statement comes as tensions continue along the border despite previous ceasefire arrangements and ongoing international mediation efforts.
