A grand inaugural ceremony was held in Karachi to launch the centennial celebrations marking 100 years of Aga Khan School Kharadar. Sindh Minister for Education and Literacy, Syed Sardar Ali Shah, attended the event as the Chief Guest.

The ceremony, organized by Aga Khan Education Service, Pakistan, was attended by President of the Ismaili Council for Pakistan, Nizar Noor Mohammad Mewawalla, CEO of Aga Khan Schools Pakistan, Imtiaz Momin, General Manager Dr Hina Velji, educationists, social figures, alumni, community leaders, and a large number of students.

Addressing the gathering, Syed Sardar Ali Shah paid tribute to the institution’s century-long contribution to education, describing Aga Khan School Kharadar as one of Sindh’s historic and distinguished educational institutions. He noted that over the past hundred years, the school has played a significant role in promoting quality education, character building, leadership development, and social progress.

He stated that the Ismaili community has a thousand-year history of service in Sindh, with remarkable contributions in the fields of education, healthcare, and social development. He emphasized that understanding Karachi’s history and growth requires acknowledging the contributions of the individuals and communities that played a vital role in the city’s development.

Syed Sardar Ali Shah further remarked that Kharadar is one of Karachi’s historic localities, and that Aga Khan School has positively impacted countless families through generations of education and learning. He said that the bond between a school and its students is not limited to a few years but is passed down from one generation to the next, and that educational institutions serve as the foundation for the fulfillment of millions of dreams.

During the ceremony, a special publication documenting the school’s hundred-year history was launched. Various commemorative initiatives highlighting the institution’s educational legacy, achievements, and contributions were also unveiled. The occasion further recognized and honored individuals who have rendered outstanding services in the field of education.

At the conclusion of the event, participants paid rich tribute to Aga Khan School Kharadar’s century-long educational journey, its historic contributions, and its role in shaping society, while extending their congratulations on this significant milestone.
