Bangladesh fast bowling coach Shaun Tait has resigned from his position, bringing an early end to his tenure with the national team. The former Australian fast bowler cited family commitments as the main reason behind his decision, saying he wants to spend more time with his loved ones after a demanding period in international cricket.
Tait had been serving as Bangladesh’s fast bowling coach for the past 12 months and played a key role in working with the team’s pace attack. During his time with the squad, he contributed to the development of several bowlers and helped strengthen the side’s fast-bowling resources across formats.

His departure comes despite having a long-term agreement with the Bangladesh Cricket Board. The contract was scheduled to remain in effect until November 2027, making his resignation an unexpected development for the board and the national setup.
Meanwhile, Bangladesh cricket officials will now need to begin the search for a suitable replacement ahead of upcoming international assignments. Finding an experienced coach capable of continuing the progress of the pace unit will be an important priority for the team management.

Tait enjoyed a successful playing career with Australia and earned recognition for his express pace and aggressive bowling style. After retirement, he moved into coaching and worked with various international teams and franchise sides, building a reputation as a respected fast-bowling mentor.
His decision highlights the challenges many coaches face in balancing professional commitments with family life. While Bangladesh loses an experienced member of its coaching staff, Tait’s departure reflects his desire to prioritize personal responsibilities after years of involvement in elite-level cricket.
