Rana Sanaullah says voting age revision under review - Minute Mirror

Prime Minister’s Adviser on Political Affairs Rana Sanaullah has said that no proposal is under consideration to amend laws related to the voting rights of young people in Pakistan.

Speaking to the media during a kabaddi tournament ceremony in Faisalabad, Rana Sanaullah rejected reports suggesting that the government was considering changes that could deprive younger citizens of their right to vote.

He stressed that public debate and discussion on national issues should continue but clarified that there was no move under consideration regarding the voting age limit.

During his address, Rana Sanaullah also highlighted the importance of sports promotion in Punjab, particularly kabaddi, which he described as one of the province’s most popular sports.

He said many players representing Pakistan’s national kabaddi team belong to the same constituency and added that the Punjab government’s plan to establish a kabaddi stadium in the area would benefit local residents and young athletes.

The adviser further announced that sports grounds would be developed in every village of the constituency to encourage youth participation in healthy activities and sports competitions.

Commenting on the country’s economic situation, Rana Sanaullah expressed hope that inflation and poverty would gradually decline, while employment opportunities and healthcare facilities would improve in the coming months.

He also said Pakistan possesses strong defence capabilities and remains fully capable of protecting its national interests.

Referring to international developments, he remarked that global fuel prices could decline if tensions between the United States and Iran ease following ongoing diplomatic efforts.
