An initial investigation report into the deadly blast near a railway crossing in Quetta has been presented to Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti during a high-level security meeting.

The meeting, jointly chaired by the interior minister and the chief minister, strongly condemned the attack targeting civilians and security personnel. Participants also expressed condolences and solidarity with the families of those killed in the incident.

According to officials, the Inspector General of Balochistan Police briefed the meeting on preliminary findings related to the explosion that occurred near the railway track at Chaman Phatak in Quetta.

Authorities reiterated their resolve to continue operations against militant groups, referred to by officials as “Fitna al-Hindustan,” and vowed to bring those responsible for the attack to justice.

Speaking during the meeting, Mohsin Naqvi said the federal government stood firmly with the people and government of Balochistan during this difficult time. He stated that the sacrifices of the victims and security personnel would always be remembered.

Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti thanked the federal government for its continued support to Balochistan and said the families of the victims would not be left alone. He also stressed that those involved in terrorism and violence against innocent citizens would be pursued and dealt with according to the law.

The blast occurred a day earlier near the railway track in Quetta, killing at least 14 people, including three personnel of the Frontier Corps, while several others sustained injuries.

Security agencies and law enforcement authorities have launched investigations into the incident, while rescue and medical teams responded immediately after the explosion to shift the injured to nearby hospitals.
